Attorney Kimberly Prendergast is passionate about the law and helping clients navigate the courts. Ms. Prendergast cares deeply about her clients and ensuring that they have the facts and information they need to be informed about their legal options.
Ms. Prendergast has spent the entirety of her post bar career practicing family law. She is a certified family law specialist by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. Prendergast enjoys getting to know her clients and learning about what is most important to them and how she can help her clients obtain their family law goals. Not only does Ms. Prendergast have an immense amount of knowledge and experience in family law; she excels at applying that to her client’s unique issues and circumstances. Ms. Prendergast grew up in Ohio and she lived in New York and Arizona before settling in California. Prior to attending law school, she worked as a journalist at several Inland Empire newspapers, including the Daily Press in Victorville, The San Bernardino Sun in San Bernardino and The Press- Enterprise in Riverside. As a reporter, Ms. Prendergast wrote stories about the community, government, courts and entertainment.
The skills and experiences Ms. Prendergast had as a journalist make her an exceptional attorney. Investigating facts and telling her client’s story in a compelling way guided by the applicable law enables Ms. Prendergast to successfully advocate for her clients and get them outstanding results.
Education
- University of La Verne College of Law, Ontario, CA – Juris Doctor, January 2009. While at the University of La Verne College of Law, Ms. Prendergast worked a Law Clerk with the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s office during the summers of 2007 and 2008. She also volunteered as a legal extern for the Disability Rights Legal Center from Aug. 2007 to May 2008. Ms. Prendergast interned for the Honorable Arlene Singer, Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeals in Toledo, Ohio during the summer of 2006. Her academic achievements during law school include working as an Associate Editor on the well-regarded University of La Verne Law Review, earning a merit scholarship, a CALI award in Disability Rights and Philosophy of Law, and earning a place on the Dean’s List.
- Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ – Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, December 1999. During her time at Arizona State University, Ms. Prendergast worked as a reporter and feature writer for the State Press newspaper from 1998- 1999.
